Parents can influence their children only so much. Much of a child's personality is shaped by how they are raised, but not all of it is. There are a lot of people out there today who have made bad decisions and are committing crimes, but that isn't a result of how their parents advice, or teachings. No one raised their child to be a drug dealer, a murderer, a rapist, or a bank robber, but those people still exist in the world. Just as well as some parents are really great parents and don't instill good values in their children, but that doesn't mean that the child wont grow up to be successful. So, in my opinion children's personalities are shape on more than just their parenting, but the world around them. Things we see on t.v., the places were we live, and the people that we are around can also play a huge role on our personality. No matter how strong willed people may think they are, you still can get influenced either good or bad!
